Alterations

Construction of 40 Moorings — Harbour Island, Gordons Bay

• Remove existing moorings and replace with 300m of floating jettys.
• Jettys are of galvanized steel construction, clad in hardwood timber.
• Entire mechanism accomadates tidal range by sliding on 10 columns, 400mm diameter, each fixed to its own 20m3 reinforced concrete base placed at -6m below mean sea level.
• Concrete was pumped over 100m from the shore into the shutter seen below.
